Peshawar: Government of NWFP entered into an agreement with AbacusConsulting at a ceremony held in Peshawar. According to the agreement, AbacusConsulting will facilitate GoNWFP in streamlining the Energy and Power Sector operations in NWFP.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Khalid Aziz, Advisor on NHP & Energy to Government of NWFP and former Chief Secretary, Government of NWFP, said, this exercise will enable Government of NWFP to review the Energy and Power Sector strategy, and help recognize the institutions that require strengthening for smooth functioning of the Energy and Power sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Asif A. Jehania, Vice President, AbacusConsulting, said, we are delighted to facilitate the Government of NWFP in strengthening their Energy and Power sector institutions and look forward to providing necessary support and assistance in strengthening the role of associated stakeholder entities to achieve maximum benefit for the people and Government of NWFP.
The assignment entails facilitating GoNWFP stakeholders to participate in a strategic dialogue to help them define a strategic direction on the basis of which strategic goals and objectives can be achieved. The activity shall allow GoNWFP energy and power sector organizations to right align their structures and directions so that they may work through synergy and achieve common goals. In addition, the assignment also involves developing a detailed mandate and technical structure of the Energy and Power Department of GoNWFP employing Mercer methodology.
