AbacusConsulting has been awarded World Quality Commitment International Star Award in Gold Category in Paris, for it recognition of commitment to Quality, Leadership, Technology and Innovation by Business Initiative Directions (B.I.D, at the 22nd World Quality Convention held n Paris, France). AbacusConsulting was the only company in 2008 to be awarded this award from Pakistan.
The International Star Award for Quality is awarded to organizations for corporate achievement, to recognize quality and excellence within Customer Satisfaction, Human Resources, Communication Strategies, Continuing Education and Training, Benchmarking, Processes and Production, Information and Data Analysis, Business Results, Leadership, ISO 9000, Planning and Decision-making and TQM.
Beginning in the mid-1970s, B.I.D. began developing quality award programs based on the criteria of the QC•100, a model of Total Quality Management (TQM). The International Quality Award is recognized internationally as a pattern model.
Since its inception, many groups of businesses representing large numbers of employees have participated in the B.I.D. Quality Award process. In addition, other independent persons, Chairmen and CEOs, along with engineers, physicists, mathematicians, professionals from different areas in both public and private institutions have contributed many suggestions to strengthen the International Quality BID Award.
In the past, the outstanding companies at the ceremonies have been Indian Oil Corp. Ltd., Reliance Industries, Sahara India, Hotel Sheraton, Subway, Jorio Coca Cola Corse, ENSOL, ROA “UES of Russia, Hong Yuen Electronics Ltd, Arab Contractors, Royal Jordanian Airline, Richmonde Hotel, Burgan Bank, and National Insurance Corporation of Tanzania Ltd.
