Abacus wins market study project for TetraPak

Abacus won a project from TetraPak Pakistan Limited for a detailed study on waste collection and sorting practices in Lahore. The study is divided into two components, the first part involving a mapping exercise to assess preference drivers of waste collectors and sorters for actively collecting company’s competitor packaging including paper, plastic, PET bottles and metals. The second component of the study would entail recommendations to bring recycling demand for Tetra Pak products in-line with that of competitor packaging.

As a part of the project Abacus will employ both primary and secondary research to develop a qualitative report for the client. The primary research will involve interviews with scavengers, junkshop owners, middlemen and recyclers to review and analyze recycling practices for different packaging material. The secondary research will involve review of published reports to assess waste collection and sorting methods both locally and internationally.
